TERM1NAL is a third-person Gear VR adventure where the player controls both an android and her robot dog simultaneously. The game blends narrative, exploration, puzzle-solving and stealth gameplay into a short but polished two hour experience.
TERM1NAL is one of the few games I helped develop in Unity during my professional career. It taught me a lot about the engine and just how much you can achieve together with a team of highly skilled programmers.
While my time on the project was brief, it was intense. The project went through a major mid-development reboot to ‘find the fun’.
This gave me a fantastic opportunity to prove myself in gameplay analysis, prototyping and more while also learning how a team can navigate a drastic pivot. Pushing through the full production cycle afterwards in just a matter of months was a fun, wild ride.
Established core level design rules and new mechanics through rapid prototyping.
Handled level design and implementation for over half the game’s campaign, including cinematic sequences.
Took ownership over mini-games, difficulty progression, tutorials and UX improvements.
